José Mourinho spoke to the media at Valdebebas on the eve of El Clásico against Barcelona at Camp Nou, matchday 10 of La Liga.
The Real Madrid coach admitted the team are in a good run, winning, playing well and scoring, but said none of that matters in a derby. In his experience, what happens before a Clásico has little significance.
A game the whole world watches
Mourinho stressed the global dimension of the fixture, which he called unique and a game that stops the football world. Asked whether Sunday is a test of whether his side can win titles, he replied briefly: Madrid with Mourinho wins titles.
On the referee
Asked about reports surrounding the referee, he said the name of the official has never bothered him and that he always assumes the referee is good. What bothers him is rules being broken, which according to his information has not happened so far.
